How to get from Ljubljana Airport to Lake Bled
Lake Bled is about 36 km from Ljubljana Jože Pučnik Airport at Brnik — one of the shortest airport transfers to a major sight in Europe. Here are your options and a few things to know before you go.
By bus or shuttle
There is no train from the airport. Buses run to Ljubljana and Kranj, and shared shuttles are sold in the arrivals hall; going to Bled usually means a connection or waiting for other passengers. Check the current timetables for your arrival time.
By car
- The quickest road uses the motorway, which requires a Slovenian e-vignette bought online before driving; regional roads need no vignette.
- Dipped headlights must be on all day in Slovenia.
- From 15 November to 15 March winter tyres — or summer tyres with chains in the car — are mandatory.
- Parking at the lake is limited in summer; ask your hotel where to leave the car.
Private transfer
The driver waits in the arrivals hall with a name sign, follows your flight and takes you straight to your hotel at the lake — or further to Bohinj or Kranjska Gora. One fixed price for the whole car, with the vignette and fuel included; you pay the driver at the end.
